Very nice layout. both colors are working fine here. however I will go for purple theme. Just one suggestion- either introduce more yellow on this or get rid of the yellow text from the banner. That yellow text gave me a feeling that you will find more yellow in the layout, but I couldn't in that way Yellow theme is carrying more purple all over the site. hope you got the idea
