Hi all active members, as I discussed about SQABD's workshop/formal adda earlier in DD's several meetings/parties. Now I want to share some of their activity pictures from flickr. My main target is to do something like this, since graphic/web design are very popular and vastly used in BD. So guys, have a look and plan your own way. We will discuss soon.

Coffee with SQABD
Coffee with SQABD is a new discussion meeting with SQABD members to have informal discussion on random topics so that members can share their own views and comment and how they think.. A great way to share knowledge and get to introduced with others members too.

Coffee with SQABD ta choto khato kore hoyeche...like our DD small get-together. "Coffee with SQABD" er entry fee chilo 200Tk. (which we spend averagely in each meeting). If we arrange like this at Coffee World or Big Adda(I liked the place very much) with a Projector and do a regular workshop, Monthly basis would be fine...but if we do like this it must have to be worthy. Now question is how we can make this worthy? Amra ja ja jani which can be shared and want to share can be shared. dorkar hoy amra kichu guest dakte pari from different software/design/web companies. Lets see what others say. new ideas from you are appreciable.

In my point of view...SQABD is making their regular discussion on a particular topic…that is software development & software testing…coz they r an organization who r trying to improve our Software industry…. & that’s their goal direction…Now come up with DD...what is DD…? I think DD is a designers community...who has some brilliant members of different web track…but composed in a single sense...that is designing…what ever which media or which part of design or planning is belongs to each of DD members..but they r enlisted here for the better improvement of design knowledge sharing…& also for the core interest on designing….so in my sense I think DD admin & concern designers should take the plan of Event discussion on a common topic…which can be easily clarify on some Misti party… ..so no needs to making list in general basis for each person…we just need to find out a common thought for a particular time period which is related on designing…that’s all…

Nice topic and inspirational...

I would like to share some thought...

a. We need a fix place (which can be after some days not now...)

b. One white board with necessary gear for lecture and make it more visible...

c. Every member should have papers and pen for write down the discussion...

d. Meeting agenda should be mentioned before (after forum discussion) (agree with AMIT)

e. Every member should join there with his/her personal responsibility

That was my thought how we can best use our meetings... lets see what happen.............................

hey guys, we are planning to do a seminar very soon(June09). Plan is we will invite a known figure(Afzal Hossain/Ali Zaker/Mostafa Munowar or other)* in the seminar and let them to speak on a selected topic in the event. There could be 2/3 speakers. We will invite other industry including ad, software, universities, media in the seminar.

Topic can be:
1. Designers' scope in Bangladesh
2. Design outsourcing or Freelancing in Bangladesh
3. Importance of design community in Bangladesh
....
....
bla bla

We have also a plan to arrange a prize giving(DD design competition) ceremony in the seminar. So what do you think? Your input will be appreciable.
