Logo design and Golden ratio, why the fight?

Recently I've casued a huge keyboard fight on a Logo design community by asking a simple question, "How can I design a logo based on the golden ratio?"
So here's the thing, I never designed logo for a client. I've been working on a logo for a Web design agency now and as a part of the research I thought to give it a try based on the golden ratio but I couldn't figure out how. So I published a question on the Logo design community and turns out designers do not like to design logo based on golden ratio because it's a mainstream thing to do for them. Few were suggesting me to leave the thought of golden ratio and just make a logo. But I didn't get the answer of my "why" question!
What the experts have to say here? I would like to know your thoughts on this.
Here's a meme google gave me and I find it very relevent! I'm just as clueless as this innocent animal!

Thanks for sharing this interesting topic.
As I'm not a Logo expert, I'll just share my personal opinion here.
AFAIK, the golden ratio is a design theory that helps to create a balanced and aesthetic design and some people says, this is just a myth!
But most of the professional logo designers hate this "term" for the way it's being used in the logo portfolio presentation. People just keep designing random logos and trying to validate it by golden ratio based circles. But most of them don't understand the golden ratio properly. They are doing for the shake of "trend," and that's why the designers who understand the theory, hate this jargon based terminology usage practice.
Here're few article suggestions I've found on a such fighting post in a design group-

I agree with Shad bhai that "But most of the professional logo designers hate this "term" for the way it's being used in the logo portfolio presentation." because they don't even understand the concept and importance of this golden ratio. I found it really hard to design a logo maintaining the GR circles. But this really an amazing stuff.
There are people/companies design logo's only for 199 taka. And they do have lots of clients. Clients don't even bother about the concept, brand etc. They just ask for wow looking logo with less money. That's why may be the community did't feel the necessity of GR.
I have doubt people brainstorm, sketch, research before designing a logo. They are making a logo look like an icon instead of brand identity.
Just want to share one of my behind the scene works of a logo. Here is my pin board full of thinking.

Interesting topic Priti
There is no harm to apply Golder Ratio or Rule of Third in logo design. But first we need to understand
why does these rules exist? and
where can be best applied or suited for?.
We may find those rules useful in painting or photography (Framing) than designing a logo. Rather it is more appropriate for designing banners, posters, business cards etc where we require to organise design elements in a page layout.
However, applying Golden Ratio in your logo design process will help you to learn more about the theory (Goldern Ratio). You may also find few popular logos are designed using GR.
From my experience, I never used GR in my logos and also haven't seen any designers (colleagues) using it (both in BD and AUS). Perhpas it is not the best practice.
However, I am not against it at all. If you want to try and can make a nice logo then why not.
Please show us your progress
